[mythtv-users] Power/heat saving video card

There's been a lot of talk about power and heat savings achieved through
better CPU management (like with athcool).  Are there any tricks to
reducing the power/heat generated by my video card?

I have a fanless nVideo Geforce4 MX440 SE, but anything that reduces
heat in my case can result in slower fans.

First, is there a temperature sensor on the card like there is in my CPU
and motherboard?

Perhaps it would make sense to use the normal X options to shut the
display off, but only when in the main menu (i.e., not when playing a TV
show, video, or DVD).

Any thoughts on this?
