Yes and no. These LEDs are also there because of their purpose. Can't really 
hear the HD, so it's nice to have some indication that the thing is still 
recording.

Especialy since there is no real way to stay in the frontend and still having 
the backend shutdown after some time. There is no 'frontend isn't 
used'-timeout. When you exit the frontend, only option, there is no 
pretty/easy way of comming back.
