[mythtv-users] S-Video Output PVR250 or PVR350???

It's the everything else that is important to me. I'm taking this
project on as the ideal PVR. "Basically, I want the mythical
convergence box that's been talked about for a few years now".

So, with that, I think an onboard S-Video is the better way to go.
Especially if there is a compromise with the non-MPEG type decoding.
I'm going to go with a 2.4Ghz P4 that I'll take from another box I have.
So, I should have plenty of CPU to play a divx file or dvd, even while a
PVR250 (or two) does some recording. I've settled on getting an ASUS
Pundit system. I've had nothing but good experience with ASUS
motherboards. I've also read about plenty of favorable experiences with
MythTV and that specific hardware (in addition to the low cost) to sell
me on it. I'm just weary of the integrated SiS 315 as a graphics
board. I just have no personal experience with it. However, this is a
project, right?

it surely doesnt hurt to have both.. the 350 is superior quality and
lower overhead for decoding (since it will be then using the onboard
decoder) but its uses a rather slow frame buffer.. playing
dvds/divx/games elese is rather slow and jerky..

get a nice gf4mx with svid out.. (many people like the PNY's) along with
a 350 and decide yourself which route you want togo..
