*lots* of people have had stability issues with Nvidia cards that went 
away after disabling APIC support in their kernels & bios, so it was 
worth a shot.  Using nvidia's AGP driver has helped some as well, for 
others it's made things worse.

It might be an issue with the drivers and the nForce1 chipset who knows.
