Sounds like some of your hardware doesn't like sharing IRQ.. I would try
re-arranging some of your hardware to attempt to get cards on their own IRQ
as much as possible.

Subject: [mythtv-users] Running well but with quirks

Got my first myth box running quite well now with the basics. Many thanks to
Jarod for his fantastic HOWTO.

I have 3 quirks now with my relatively stable system and haven't seen much
mentioned about them specifically. I'm looking for a few comments on either
the quirks or troubleshooting, if anyone has any.

1. mythfrontend hangs if I get to "aggressive" with the remote while viewing
recorded or live TV. I can't decide if I like the auto backup after REW/FF
feature yet and I certainly haven't gotten used to it. As a result I tend to
FF thru a section and when I hit play it backs up to far so I hit FF again
then it backs up to little and I hit REW and this is where the frontend just
gives up and hangs. Ctrl-alt-backspace and I am back in business (most of
the time, see #2) ... This a known issue or just me?

2. Intermittently, my keyboard totally stops responding while the front end
is running. I cannot even Ctrl-alt-backspace to reset. As I have no other
machine networked to the mythbox yet, I am forced to hit the power button. I
haven't spent a lot of time yet trying to determine exactly when it hangs
(it is hung right now but everything else is fine so I haven't reset yet).
It's gonna be a toughie since the keyboard seems to hang and not affect any
other aspect of the system.

3. Video artifacts when watching live AND recorded TV. Hard to describe but
its like every so often one frame is offset down and to the left. I am
assuming this is an ivtv issue and I am heading over to join the lists
there. I've seen mention of "video artifacts" on list and they have
typically been blamed on ivtv. This sound like a typical ivtv thing?

FYI My hardware is:

MSI K7N2GM-L MB (nforce2, onboard sound/GF4)
Corsair XMS 1x512MB DDR400
Athlon XP 2GHz
2 x PVR-250
Seagate Barracuda 7200 80GB single platter HD
Coolmax PSU from newegg (VERY quiet!)
Coolermaster ATC-610 case

And software is identical to that in Jarod's guide except the updated 2174
kernel and rebuilt drivers.

Thanks for any comments!

Eric
