[mythtv-users] Where does mythtv get the frequencies from?

Yeah, there is a field called channel id (or something like that).
Please be aware, that the frequency names given to you by your
cable-provider (I assume you are on cable) may not necessarily match
the frequency names that mythtv wants. See
libs/libmythtv/frequencies.c in the Mythtv-source for details.
Also, make sure that you have set the correct tuner type in your
modules.conf, having a wrong tuner-type could have similar symptons.
To find out what kind of tuner you have, modprobe tveeprom (out of the
ivtv driver) and look in you kernel-messages with dmesg. It will be
listed there.
