	I asked on the aspect thing last week.  Are you *sure* it captured at 
640x480?  See what mplayer thinks... you've probably captured at 480x480 
(either though mis-settings or bug).

My situation was running a non-4:3 resolution (720x480) in X resulted in black
bars on the sides of the screen as mythtv was scaling to square pixels.  The
solution is to add a "DisplaySize width height" option to the XF86config file.  

Just as a note, this worked, but just any numbers didn't.  Mythtv refused to 
show at "DisplaySize 400 300" for instance, but worked at "DisplaySize 320 
240."  Also, you have to override the dpi override in /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf for 
redhat9 (probably fedora too)

from:
command=/usr/X11R6/bin/X -dpi 100
to:
command=/usr/X11R6/bin/X

... otherwise X will be forced to be in 100 dpi for both X and Y.
