I'm interested.
I haven't had a lot of time for pic programming, but I've built plenty
of electronics. I'm a generally hard core router/computer geek. (I
also have access to a serious PIC geek.) I added a simple driver to
CAJUN for use with the VWCDPIC, and have whacked on the LCDproc code at
times.

How's the circuit look? Are you using a USB to PIC setup, or doing a
sort of USB to serial/TTL hack? More information would be useful.

The USB chips came in today and I have a finalized schematic. My
business partner is laying out the board now. I'm just going to have
some prototypes made with silkscreen (can't do it in my shop) because
soldering the fine pitch microcontroller and USB chips would be a pain
without solder mask. I'll be making five prototypes...2 of which I'm
going to hand off to people for development/testing. I'll need reports
on IR reception and transmission, LCD functionality, and overall
thoughts on the design. I'd prefer someone with at least minimal
electronics experience and, ideally, a device programmer capable of
programming a Microchip PIC18F442. Knowledge of drivers for LIRC and
LCDproc is also essential since minor modifications will need to be made

to existing ones. I'm putting a bootloader in the firmware so that
upgrades can be made serially, but if things go REALLY bad, you'll need
a programmer to reflash the chip. I'll send these people firmware
updates based on their bug reports and my progress. In the end, these
two people will get a free produciton unit. Is anyone up for the
challenge?

Steve
