Not strictly true - the Sony Wega XBR's (non-HD) added progressive scan 
in 1998 (AIR) and later models. Pissed me off because mine was bought 6 
months before. This was done to support progressive scan DVD players I 
believe. I don't know if the s-video input supported it though.
