guys,

i'm the author if the IR transmitter howto referred to in the post below,

it is true that the howto is geared towards a Debian MythTV system, or more
specifically to a KnoppMyth MythTV system.  if you guys who run Fedora or
other distros could tell me exactly what steps are needed in contrast to
my Debian system, i will annotate my howto with this info.  in turn this will
hopefully prevent the type of issues which were encountered below.
