Yes, you can indeed rpm -e them. However, there is another route you can take.
The nvidia rpms from ATrpms include the ability to have multiple versions
installed on your machine at once, and switch between them, using the
nvidia-graphics-switch script. Kill off X, issue the command
"nvidia-graphics-switch <version>" where version is 4363, 5336, etc., then
reboot (to play it safe) or restart X.
