In my fc1 buildroots I have the following figures:

o full rpm developement (gcc, binutils, etc.) and infrastructure
  (sshd, samba):                                          256MB
o add mythtv-backend & depenedencies:                     307MB
o add all of mythtv, modules, themes, mplayer etc:        531MB

So removing build tools, you could have a myth-backend running on
something like 256MB on FC1. Anyone want to try to boot FC1 from a
flashcard? :)
