[mythtv-users] Short recordings (SOLVED)

I think I finally solved the issue I have with mythtv hanging and 
resulting in short recordings (and missed recordings).  It's not a mythtv 
problem but I know others have had the same problem so this may help 
someone out.

For the longest time, I thought it was the ivtv driver... but switching my 
recordings filesystem from reiserfs to xfs (both under Fedora Core 1) 
seems to have solved the problem.  I would notice that sometimes an 'ls 
-l' in my recordings directory would hang for several seconds up to 
several minutes sometimes.  Initially I thought it was a hardware problem 
-- but switching to xfs have eliminated all of the lock-ups and 
short/missed recordings.

Now if I could just find a fix for the sometimes grainy/purple-checked 
AverMedia M179 recordings....
