To clarify even further: the MPEG2 decoder reallys has nothing
to do with X. You _can_ use the PVR-350's frame buffer
interface to display X if you want (either via the X11
framebuffer driver or the ivtvdev X11 driver), but that's
logically separate from the MPEG decoder. The two video signals
(one from the MPEG decoder, one from the PCI addressible frame
buffer) are overlayed by the 350 HW before being send out the
connector.
You can display X on a different video card and still use the
350's video decoder for displaying MPEG2 streams. This isn't a
particularly useful thing to do in the context of a myth box
unless you either _want_ a two-headed display or have some
external way to overlay the X signal on top of the 350's
signal.
