[mythtv-users] Ratpoison overscan

Hello... I believe someone had mentioned this in a thread a few days
ago, but I never saw any replies. One problem with ratpoision as a WM is that
it forces all windows to be maximized, full-screen. That's great most of the
time, but some video card combinations cannot reduce the overscan, so the
top/bottom/sides of any terminal opened up for debugging purposes will be cut
off on the TV. I have emailed the author, but have so far received no
response. Any suggestions?

I believe I have succeeded in scripting up one large encap package and
script that does *everything* necessary to fire up mythtv (assuming the kernel
and modules are ready to load). It does root things as root, and user things
as a user with sudo. It should facilite making a new myth box from scratch
without having to tediously go through a list of settings to check. It runs
bare X with ratpoison to reduce the overhead of GDM/KDM and all that
unnecessary jazz. If I could figure out this ratpoison thing, things would be
good!

Thanks,
-Cory
