[mythtv-users] Multiple capture cards, single video source, and scheduling

Recently, I added a second capture card to my backend system
in order to be able to watch live TV and record (from another
channel) simultaneously.

Unfortunately, it seems that MythTV is not very smart when
this condition occurs. Even though a second card is sitting idle,
MythTV very often wants to "steal" the card that's currently
encoding live tv in order to record a program. It's quite annoying,
especially since I added a second card explicitly to get around this
issue.

Now, maybe it's me that's not very smart and I haven't gotten
my MythTV configured properly to support the desired behavior.
(However, I'm not alone, as I've seen a few posts - without
resolution- in the mailing list archive from people having this
same issue.) Anyway, if I'm missing something in setup, here,
I'd appreciate a few pointers on what I need to do. I've already
tried various combinations of "input preference" in the backend
setup program and it doesn't seem to help. I also saw some
posts that say you can specify which card to record a show on
in the advanced recording options, but I couldn't find any such
setting (running 0.15.1, here).

Thanks,
Mik
