-] Wouldn't that confuse the scheduler, in case the same channel (and
-] therefor programs) are available on multiple tuners?
This would not confuse the scheduler since it would see them as the same
show from different logical inputs. If the scheduler were aware of
characteristics of the different inputs (one is HDTV for instance), then
the user could set a flag that configures the scheduler to always grab
the HDTV show if available. The scheduler would be able to handle the
different logical inputs separately when resolving conflicts by doing it
in two stages: first picking a logical input, then trying to pick a
tuner to assign to the recording, if there is no tuner available due to
some conflict, then it would backtrack and try another logical input.
Think of it as a depth-first tree search.
