Hi all,
Question: Should mythtv automatically switch tuner cards when browsing
channels?
My system goes funny when I get to the end of the channel range
defined for the current input when using channel up and down.
What happens is that when I get to the bottom end of the channel range for a
given card, and try and go down (or up at the top of the range), I get the following
error repeated on backend:
2004-06-02 08:20:43 CheckChannel failed. Please verify channel "1001" in the "setup" Channel Editor.
2004-06-02 08:20:43 CheckChannel failed. Please verify channel "R1" in the "setup" Channel Editor.
2004-06-02 08:20:43 CheckChannel failed. Please verify channel "R2" in the "setup" Channel Editor.
2004-06-02 08:20:43 CheckChannel failed. Please verify channel "R3" in the "setup" Channel Editor.
2004-06-02 08:20:43 CheckChannel failed. Please verify channel "R4" in the "setup" Channel Editor.
2004-06-02 08:20:43 CheckChannel failed. Please verify channel "R5" in the "setup" Channel Editor.
... <Here the message is repeated for all the channel frequency ids in the pal-europe-east frequency table>
2004-06-02 08:20:43 CheckChannel failed. Please verify channel "69" in the "setup" Channel Editor.
2004-06-02 08:20:43 CheckChannel failed. Please verify channel "R1" in the "setup" Channel Editor.
2004-06-02 08:20:43 Error, couldn't find any available channels.
2004-06-02 08:20:43 Your database is most likely setup incorrectly.
After this, I can't go up or down to change the channel on the particular input. If I switch inputs with Y
though, things seem to go back to normal.
I thought that mythtv could switch inputs and I could browse all the channels I have, but this happens
at the end of any of the ranges.
Can anyone suggest anything that might be wrong the the way I've set things up. I've
included what I think is probably the relevant info from my database tables. Do I need to have the
channels defined in sequencial order from 1 up to X rather than in ranges? Could there be something about
the sourceid's being 5,4 and 6 rather than something like 1,2 or 3? These might be throw overs from when I
was experimenting with setting things up.
I've got three tuner cards, 2 PVR's and a DigiTV. I've got the channels defined in ranges as
follows:
1001 - 1031 Digital
2001 - 2019 Direct Cable (output from the wall socket)
3001 - 3003 Cable Box (output from the cable tuner box)
Database table info (I hope the spacing comes out ok):
