Argh! A celeron! 'Fraid I have a bit of an allergic reaction to these chips
;) Would have gone for a nice Athlon 2400 myself, but hey ho, I'm a self
confessed AMD fanboy, and the pundit only supports P4's anyway. Ho hum!

I don't know what drive you're thinking of getting, but I got myself the
cheapest DVD drive I could find that was black, an MSI D16, which is
essentially a rebadged Pioneer DVD-500M. I find it very quiet in operation,
and being a Pioneer it's a doddle to region-free it. Only cost me £20 sterling.

As an aside I seem to remember there's some way to limit the speed these
things run at (limiting to 4x would seem ideal unless you're using it to
rip DVD's) via hdparm or somesuch, but I never bothered' since I can't hear
this drive in operation.
