     Just to provide an alternative: using Knoppmyth is just as fast, or
probably even faster (my guess is that it's fully installable in, oh, 30
minutes).  However, if you have a PVR-250/350, you do have to know the
magic incantations (in the knoppmyth forums); even with this, it should
still be well under an hour.

[ And the nice thing about Knoppmyth is that so much is fully installed
  and pre-configured, like mythcvs and lirc.  ]
