I've experienced the same thing. I have a box with 1 PVR250 and two
M179s. The picture quaulity on the 250 is far above anything the M179
can pull off. Plus I haven't been able to get the latest 2.6 version of
the ivtv drivers to work at all with the M179s. The drivers can't
autodetect the tuner settings for the cards, I've had to digress back to
the June branch. And the config is fairly picky about firmware too.

I did manage to increase the quality alittle bit on the M179s by maxing
out my resolution to 720x480. I wish I would have gotten more PVR250s
though. =(
