[mythtv-users] New Nvidia Gforce Drivers vs XVMC

Thanks for the reply. I set the adjust in settings and it does seem to help. I
may have to tweak it a bit more. But it's not as bad as it was. I also added
denoise3d. I was getting some interference from other components in the box and
this seems to help that.

Sounds like you have a BT8x8 card. There are some settings people like
modified to make it look right. It's the adjust filter and I'm not sure what
mine are but they're in the archives somewhere multiple times on what some
people like on their settings.

I have turned off the deinterlace and I am using 6106 drivers from nVidia.
My
resolution is at 640x480 (I've also used 800x600 the only two that seem to
work
with the new driver). On the back of the card is an S-Video out put but
since I
don't have s-video on any of my devices I've had to use a converter to
Compsite.
I have the TVOutputFormat = "Composite". I'm going to try S-Video and see
what
happens. Just for reference I'm running a Gigabyte G7N400 Pro 2 with XP
2500+
(not overclocked). Just so you know I was playing around with xine today so
I
could use the dvd menus (what a great package but thats for another post).
Any
way I noticed that the dvd output looked great. The colours where vibrant
and
no blurring of the image. Where MythTV seems blurred and a little washed
out.

The new nvidia drivers output in interlaced mode so you can turn off the
deinterlace option in myth and it should look fine. Are you using the new
drivers?

I was wondering if anyone has a page or howto for x and tv output. I have a
nVidia 5200 witht vga/tv out/dvi. I've got the nvidia driver and have it
outputing to the tv just fine (the only monitor the machine has). My
problem is
an interlacing issue. I have noticed mostly when the camera pans passed a
stationary object it seems to blur on the screen. While this happened a bit
with the computer monitor I was able to correct it with the de-interlace
option
in myth. I don't have my manual for my card in front of me so I can't give
alot
of details but if you need them just let me know and I'll post my whole
setup.
