Right; permissions don't enter into the picture here. If you're viewing
LiveTV at all, then your file permissions are fine.
Sounds like you're getting a double keypress/button event. Are you
using Myth's built-in LIRC support or irxevent? Does the same thing
happen if you use the keyboard?
Keep in mind that Myth doesn't use ${HOME}/.lircrc ; it uses
${HOME}/.mythtv/lircrc .
