Yeah, I found that too, but I'm sure the TV card used to work under
XP. Maybe I was using the mic input then, too. (Shame ShowShifter
couldn't keep lipsync when recording. And mythtv is far better at
picking programmes to record, and the cut feature's ace, and...)
Hm, it occurs to me that if I'm using the headphone output socket,
it's not a line level and this probably isn't helping with the
quantity of distortion I'm hearing too. That should be fixed if
and when I get digital output working (ALSA::hw:0,2 or somesuch is
the magic word I need here, I think. At the moment I think it's
using OSS emulation.)
On another sound-related question: imagine I had one card connected
so that S-Video was a STB input and the UHF was the free-to-air
stuff. I would then need 2 audio inputs. Showshifter couldn't
deal with using one input for the S-Video video and one for UHF -
can MythTV do any better? The logical place to find the box to set
that up would be the bindings page of mythsetup, but it just assumes
there's one input per video card, as far as I could tell. In some
ways there still is, but the mixer would need reconfiguring, so I
guess there's an input script I could use somewhere...
This isn't something I especially want right now, it's just an idle
thought.
