[mythtv-users] apt-get dependency resolution?

I'm going through Jarod C. Wilson's very helpful Red Hat 9 install
guide, and I've run across a snag. When I do the apt-get insall
lirc-kmdl-`uname -r`, I get the following:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
openssh-server: PreDepends: openssh (= 3.5p1-11) but 3.5p1-6 is to be
installed
qt-MySQL: Depends: qt (= 1:3.2.3-0.fdr.8.rh90) but 1:3.1.1-6 is to be
installed
tv-fonts: Obsoletes: xawtv-tv-fonts but 3.81-6 is to be installed

The last time I had issues like this (with the install of mythtv-suite),
I had to remove gtk2 and gtk+, which ended up un-installing a
fascinating number of other packages! I don't want to go down that
particular road again if there's a different way of satisfying apt-get.
Has anyone come across this particular snag? In general, how should
this sort of thing be handled with a minimum of catastrophe?

More particulars: my kernel is 2.4.20-28_36.rh9.at (Axel Thimm's patched
kernel). My card's a Hauppauge WinTV PVR350, my video card's an nVidia
GeForce TI4200, and my motherboard's an Asus P4PE. And I'm running my
hard drive off SATA, if that's relevant.
