[mythtv-users] redhat 9.1 and mythtv lockup trouble

Sorry Redhat 9

I will try another nic, dma is enabled on the hard drive. BUT this
doesn't happen when Mythtv is not running.

Example I transfer a 2.2gb recording with Mythtv running it locks
somewhere between 600meg and 1gb, restart the machine and exit from
Mythtv and I can transfer the same 2.2gb file multiple time with no
lockup.

Yesterday I wiped my program database and tried to use mythfilldatabase
to repopulate it, it transferred 2 days of programming before locking
up. Restarted the machine and exited from Mythtv and was able to
complete the mythfilldatabase 9 days.

Also double-check that DMA is enabled on your hard drive.

I'd check DMA on the HD first, since it costs nothing, unless you 
already own a spare NIC. ;-)
