[mythtv-users] Question about nforce2 MB

Jarod, I figured it was simpler to explain the reason to him using the
1800/2400 numbers instead of potentially confusing him even more by
using the actual clock frequencies of the AMD CPU's.
But since you brought it up:
The actual clock speed of an 1800 is 1.53GHz and the 2400 is 2.0 GHz

If you multiply 1.53 times 1.33 you get 2.0349 which is pretty darn
close to 2.0 GHz

Either way the math works the same.

This isn't quite correct. An Athlon XP 1800 does NOT run at 1800MHz, and
a
2400 does NOT run at 2400MHz. To make it more interesting, with the
multiple
different Athlon cores in the 2200 to 2700 range or thereabouts, there
are
processors with the same tag that actually run at different clock
speeds.
Then mix in processors w/166MHz bus speeds... The "multiply by 1.33"
logic
doesn't quite hold.

That said, it is likely the bus speed setting causing the problem.
