[mythtv-users] MythMusic - Sloow scanning... and music doesn't even play!

I copied over my collection of mp3's, about 2 gig's worth, to the box I'm using for mythtv. I've followed Jarod's guide, and placed the music in a folder on a xfs formatted partition. When I first told myth to scan for new music, it took forever, almost 24 hours before it finally finished. When I go to play music though, it looks like none of the ID3 tags were scanned (all the mp3's do have id3 tags) because they're labeled as Unknown Artist. When I play an actual song, no audio comes out and the timer doesn't start counting. I get the following error message:

Decoder MAD: Failed to Open Input

The mp3's play fine in xmms and xmms reads their id3 tags fine. What's wrong?
