I'm running my backend on a Dimension 4100 and I have no issues lately with
Red Hat 9 ;-)

I'm running my myth box on a Dimension 8100 and it was a breeze to install
with Fedora. The PVR350 works great with the ivtv drivers and the video out
can be worked out in not too much time...now if I could only get the OSD to
display on my TV-out I'd be set :)

Subject: [mythtv-users] [OT] dell optiplex vs dimension for backend/frontend
Hi
I just read about the Dell deals on PCs without
Windows:
http://www1.us.dell.com/content/products/compare.aspx/desktops_n?c=us&cs
=04&l=en&s=bsd
and I want to get started building a combination backend/frontend mythtv
machine. Have people had problems with compatibility with either of these
models and the PVR-350?
Is the Optiplex overkill, or will the Dimension suffice?
Is it problematic having multiple hard drives?
Thanks
jh
