[mythtv-users] Help with Myth/SA Explorer 3250 box

Ok...I just "upgraded" to Digital Cable.  I have been searching the list 
for info on how to setup my MythTv with the cable box and wanted some 
points clarified before I start trying to get this to work.  I have a 
PVR-250 with the grey remote, running Myth 0.13 on RH9.  I am using the IR cable 
that came with the PVR-250.

1. I am assuming that I will have to use an IR blaster from my backend to 
change channels on the cable box? I am using lircd-0.7.0-pre2_13.rh9.at 
from the atrpms repository.  Will this require a recompile or just a 
config file change? IR Blaster recommendations?

2. Signal Input - The SA 3250 has S-VIDEO and Coax out. The PVR-250 has 
S-VIDEO /COAX tuner in. Which combo works best as far as picture quality 
vs. ease of setup/stability?  Will I have to run a A/V to mic jack cable 
to my mic in line on the backend? Do I set the 
PVR-250 to particular input to grab the signal (like setting to channel 3 
on a vcr) ? 

3. EPG - Are there any issue with reconfiguring xmltv to grab th extra 
stations from the digital line?  I am assuming a tv_grab_na --configure 
will do the job.


Anyway.  I hope I am not asking for too much.  Just looking for some 
pointers or others personal experience to get me started.  When I get it 
all setup, I plan on writing up a mini HOWTO to help others.
