[mythtv-users] DirecTV and the low speed data port

I have a RCA DRD430RG

I have found the script at http://tarek.2y.net/myth/RCA.pl 

and the windows app at http://www.pcmx.net/dtvcon/

I guess what I need to know now is

a) is the RCA.pl what I need ?

b) will a "standard" 9pin serial connector->RJ-11 adapter work, or is
there a special pinout?
