[mythtv-users] What do you do with your Myth box?

This looked like a good thread to jump in and start contributing. I
have recently setup a Mythbox and put it in the family room of the
house. The wife is just now discovering how cool it is to be able to
time shift TV programs and setup recording shows from outside the house
using MythWeb. I have my Myth running on Gentoo Linux that I emerged
from their online database of packages. (version 0.1.2) I have all the
modules up and running. I haven't installed any games for Mythgame yet
but I plan to in the near future. So far I have used nuvexport to make
SVCDs and burn them locally on the Mythbox, but for DVD quality video I
take the nuv files and copy them over to my.....uh....Windoze box (Since
there is no graphical interface for setting up Menus, Chapters in
Linux. I use Ulead DVD Factory SE - came with my DVDR drive). To
transfer the large nuv files I use a firewire Iomega Peerless drive
(faster than my 10mbps network). The DVDs I make are turning our great
other than the fact that you can only get 1.25 to 1.5 hours of shows on
them (since they are not layered like the movies you buy in the store).
The other hardware I have is an Abit KD7A motherboard with a XP2600+ AMD
CPU, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB four drive raid mounted as /mnt/store. One
PVR-250 Tuner Card with the grey remote (plan on adding a second one,
since my wife and I are both recording shows now, we continually have
conflicts with the one tuner) I use a GeForce 4 MX440 graphics card,
but I am not using the TV out, I use a 21" NEC monitor that I have had
for several years. My plans are to eventually get a larger LCD or
Plasma and use the 15 Pin PC video on it (thinking I will get better
quality video than SVHS out on the graphics card, please correct me if I
am wrong in my thinking)
So far my favorite show to record has been Fear Factor (don't watch it
while you are eating :-) ) I also record the reruns of Married with
Children, 60 minutes, 20/20, Dateline. I did record The Apprentice last
night. My wife usually records stuff from HGTV.
Well, this post got longer than I meant so I cut it off for now.
