[mythtv-users] how to keep executables resident?

Every time I come back to my mythtv box, it has to churn on the disk
to bring executables resident again. This is to be expected. Because
MythTV is constantly recording large amounts of data to disk, the
buffers expand and push out non-active code pages. Even if I turn off
swap, executables seem to get pushed out and demand loaded back from
the executable.

I think this pausing for reloading sometimes happens just when I'm
trying to move to different parts of the mythtv software.

Has anyone found a way to avoid this behavior? One solution would be
merely to limit the amount of buffer cache linux will use for a given
partition, but I can't figure out any way to do this.

Has anyone else looked into this problem? Are there any solutions? Do
other people not experience this issue, or not notice it as much?
