I tried building the block storage driver floppy but using this doesn't get me any further. Do I need kernel modules in order for this to work or is it just a BIOS configuration / setup thing? Or can a SATA drive even be used as a primary disk?
See my webpage http://www.antgel.co.uk/compsci/linux/promise_raid.shtml.
I need to update it - there is no need to preload scsi_mod, as it's in
the kernel. This is infact what stopped it working before.
You will note that my ft3xx.o module is built against Debian install
kernel 2.4.18-bf24. If you insist on using inferior distributions
<cough>, there is source there as well - but I don't know how you're going
to compile the source against the right kernel without another machine.
