There's really no reason why you need LIRC for this remote... I just 
couldn't get xmodmap/ati_remote working, and I haven't had time to try 
it (I gave the link already to someone's .xmodmap file..)

Oh, and one more thing... It seems everytime I kill lircd, I have to 
unload and then reload the lirc_atiusb module... figures.
