I suppose it would, but the filenames don't help me identify which vid is

If you only want to watch videos on your windows machine without copying,
wouldn't setting up samba work? nfs for that matter (unix tools for windows)

You might want to have a play with Ian Calfield's Myth/Cygwin patch that
went to the dev list yesterday. I haven't had time to play with it yet.
Looks like fun though.
