Heck, $299 for the 400SC server (new) is an awesome deal.  And since
this is the end of Dell's fiscal year, expect there to be free-upgrade
type deals for cpu, ram, etc.  Check hotdealsclub.com and
techbargains.com regularly for details (the 400SC has quite a following
online because it's such a good deal).

There has also been talk of buying the 400SC with the minimum RAM/drive
(128/40G), and then once you get it, call dell and RMA them, saying you
already have ram/drive.  They'll take them back and issue you a refund. 
A friend of mine got one of the smaller ones on record - $160 (some
people got over $200 back) - more than enough to pick up a gig of decent
RAM and a bigger drive from elsewhere.
