Please forgive me if I am asking something obvious. I have dug through as
many months of archives as I care to see. I have learned alot though.

System
AMD 1.4 Ghz.
768 RAM
Kworld BTTV 878 based video
ATI Radeon ? 32 Mb video/TV out
On board sound (which works)
40 GB harddrive
Mandrake 9.2
mythTV 0.13 Using precompiled PRMs from:
http://rpm.nyvalls.se/graphics9.2.html
KDE 3.1.3

I have been able to get the video mostly playing at normal speeds by
changing every possible combination of check boxes in the Setup|TV
Settings|Playback|General Playback page 1 settings.

I am working with live TV as well as recording and playback. I get the
same results in both places. I will get good speed video for a few seconds
and then it pauses and comes back again. My CPU usage is 99% the whole
time.

When it pauses I get a "prebuffering pause" message.

I was getting no sound except loud static. This was while using the
/dev/dsp as my sound device. But as I read on the list here when using
ALSA (which I believe I am since it is loaded in my Services Manager of
Mandrake) to add an entry into my mysql database for "ALSA:hw:0,0". I have
also chosen that as my sound device in mythtvsetup and mythfrontend
Settings. Now I get no sound at all.

This is my output from the command line:
Opening ALSA audio device 'hw:0,0'.
Rate doesn't match (requested 44100Hz, get 0Hz)
Error setting audio params: Invalid argument

I have checked to see if I have DMA running. It is. I also have 3Dnow and
all the variations running on my CPU.

I would appreciate some direction. You probably need more information from
me. Though I have used Linux for several years, please don't assume that I
know how to get the info you need. Give me some pointers in the right
direction.

Thanks.

David
