[mythtv-users] Recommended Remote Controls?

Do you guys have a recommended remote control for use with MythTV?
Something off the shelf that just works without a glitch.  I've got a TON of
remotes laying around (including a kick ass RCA Universal touch screen), but
I would need some sort of IR Reciever in order to get that working.

Would a home built IR Receiver be a better idea?  Then I can utilize one of
my many spares?

If so...anyone have any links they have used to build one?  I'm decent with
solder, but no pro...

I found a Packard Bell FastMedia Remote up on eBay for @ $10 shipped...and
it comes with a Serial IR Receiver.  Not sure if this can be used with other
remotes or not...but imagine a receiver is a receiver.
