[mythtv-users] Why does mythfrontend keep resetting my PVR-250 to 480x480?

I am using a PVR-250.

I used the command:
   ivtv/test_ioctl -f width=720,height=480
and confirmed that it took with
   test_ioctl -e

   # /usr/lib/ivtv/test_ioctl -e
   ioctl: VIDIOC_G_FMT
	   Type   : Video Capture
	   Width  : 720
	   Height : 480

However, as soon as I start mythfrontend, it resets to 480x480.

What am I doing wrong?

For what it's worth, my monitor is a bit non-standard: it is a 24"
wide-format running at 1600x1200.
