Actually due some conflicts between Myth and Xine the Xine player is 
mostly useless.  DVD playback doesn't work, nor does it handle several 
files (oddly enough different ones that Myth will not handle).  I've got 
to track down what's going on, my gut tells me it's because Myth and 
Xine are using incompatible versions of the same code.

I released a patch to the dev list that allows things like my MythXine 
plugin to be used, as well as enables the Myth playback code to be used 
from MythVideo (as well as plugins like MythXine).

Yep!  It'd be nice to not have a need for things like MythXine at all.
