[mythtv-users] shutting down mythtv question?

Is there anything special in shutting down MythTV? I've specfied ESC as keyboard command and the command and poweroff (I believe it's poweroff or maybe powerdown"). I've also tried halt, but with no prevail! Is there anything special that needs to be done?
