Do the themes rpm at

   http://atrpms.physik.fu-berlin.de/dist/common/mythtv-themes/

fail in the same way? If not, check their contents with

     rpm -ql mythtv-theme-something

to find any differences to your setup.

If you built myth yourself, maybe it is looking for the themes under
/usr/local/...?
