[mythtv-users] Choppy sound and video in the dark

When watching my myth TV I get sporadic choppy sound and video... The
sound definatly cuts in and out.. The video slows down at the same rate
so they stay in sync.
CPU is at 80% - 70% idle
I have tried different settings for resolution and bit rates
The only constant seems to be very dark or black screens causes it
almost every time (very dark 95% or more black)
Any ideas?
250 pvr
700Mhz p3
256 mb ram
System idle always above 60%
