I have finally got my linux machine put together (no myth yet)

I have dug around and found the following modelines

Modeline "480p" 27.028 720 738 802 858 480 487 494 525 -hsync -vsync

Modeline "540p" 39.956 960 1020 1100 1184 540 550 551 563 +hsync +vsync
# 39.956 MHz 33.75 kHz 59.94 Hz

# 1920X540, pseudo-1080i, 2x 540p's H timings
Modeline "540pw" 79.912 1920 2040 2200 2368 540 550 551 563 +hsync
+vsync
# 79.912 MHz 33.75 kHz 59.94 Hz

Modeline "1080i" 83.970 1920 2100 2244 2488 1080 1110 1112 1138
interlace +hsync +vsync

I have read that for 1080i and 480p you are to lock hsync at

HorizSync 33.75

and refreshrate at

VertRefresh 59.94

I can't find anyone's complete XFree86 config file, and so when I am
having problems I have to keep digging for more answers.

When I start X my Sony KP-53HS30 http://tinyurl.com/2ueq8 automatically
kicks into "16:9 Enhanced Mode" and cuts off the top and bottom of my X
server even though I am not (or shouldn't be) sending it a widescreen
signal.

I have a ATI Radeon 7200 (vivo) with an audio authority VGA -->
Component transcoder

Can someone please post their entire XF86Config, or detail the options
that are required?

I am finding that the display looks quite nice, except my fonts are
unreadable when I'm surfing the net. Is there a good font I should
switch to, or is the problem simply my incomplete configuration?
