Yes, I know the ATi has been discussed to death and I know it wasn't
the optimal choice. But it's what I have. :)
I have a Gigabyte-branded Radeon 9200 VIVO. Has anyone got VIVO to work
with Myth? AFAIK Gatos supports it but I've also seen archives of this
list that indicate Myth doesn't work with Gatos because Gatos isn't up
to v4l2 standards yet. My setup using the VGA out works wonderfully.
It's even 3D accelerated in X so the only reason I would need Gatos
is for the TV-out.
Has there been any progress on this front? This is not a super-critical
issue for me as I use a big monitor for my display. However, it may
become an issue with the A/V processor I'm considering. Getting the
on-screen menus to work may require that I feed the S-Video output into
my A/V component. It's a long story, but the short version is that
the processor has component out video but the on-screen menus only go
out the composite and S-Video ports (??). I don't know of anything
that can take both S-Video and Component Video, combine them and feed
it into a VGA monitor. I might have to convert everything to S-Video
into and out of the A/V box and convert back to SVGA to send to the
monitor. I'd really rather not have to do that, though. The monitor
is of the "sync-on-green" variety so a simple VGA-to-Component cable
should work nicely. Don't know about going into the A/V box though.
Do I need a converter from SVGA to component video (more than just
a cable, that is)?
BTW, the A/V is an Outlaw Audio model 950. I haven't bought it yet
because I want to get this issue resolved first.
