I don't think it'll work with an RC-5 code (but I could be mistaken), so you
may have to find a different code to start from. Oh, and RC-5 is actually the
less-common of the two major IR protocols; it just happens to be the one used
by the most popular capture cards for MythTV. ;-)
Now that I think about it, I don't see why the little IR dongle would give a
damn what the actual IR protocol is, it just collects pulses and hands them
off to lircd, if I'm thinking clearly (probably not). So I'd try the RC-5
codes first. Use the lirc_gpio kernel module with that card, then start with
my custom lircd.conf and lircrc, and perhaps its all gravy...
