Yes, all true, only people who take the time to understand the problem to
should start running latest CVS.

Some people like that there whole system in managed by packagemanager. btw,
to the original poster, AFAIK there's some EPIA MythTV site which holds
unofficial MythTV ebuilds (you will need to download and emerge them by
hand). They have extra EPIA stuff, but can be used to build a generic
MythTV build too.
