	If you're using an NVIDIA card, you've got xv working... both the
binary and open-source drivers support it. To get more info, run 'xvinfo'.
I'm not completely sure, but I'd imagine that xawtv uses more of an "overlay"
than does mplayer that might not be supported by the vid card drivers. If
anyone else knows more about that than I, feel free to pipe in.

	Mythtv is much more like mplayer than xawtv. It decodes an encoded
video, rather than overlaying raw video stream. If you're mplayer actually
used xv with someting like this in the debug stream:

<snip>
Starting playback...
VDec: vo config request - 352 x 240 (preferred csp: Planar YV12)
VDec: using Planar YV12 as output csp (no 0)
Movie-Aspect is 1.33:1 - prescaling to correct movie aspect.
VO: [xv] 352x240 => 352x264 Planar YV12
^^^^^^^^
You're probably good to go.
