[mythtv-users] DVB Myth-Setup nearly perfect

Hi list,

i got my setup working (nearly) perfect which means i have some minor
troubles.

First of all my setup:
All MythTV versions are 0.14

MythBackend:
Athlon XP 2600+ running Gentoo
2 TT Budget DVB-S cards (one with a CI module)
EPG with "hoerzu"

FrontEnd 1:
Athlon XP 2600+ running Gentoo

FrontEnd 2:
XBox running Dennis Myth distro

Problems:
1) CI/CAM
According to http://www.ethics-gradient.net/myth/mythdvb.html there should
be CAM support in MythTV and the dvb-driver. Unfortunately i can't see the
mentioned lines "DVB#0 CAM Support initialized successfully" in my
mythbackend logs and mythbacken crashes when i switch to an encrypted
channel on the card with the CAM.
Do i have to load an additional module for CAM?
Are there any patches i should use?
Is it possible that my CAM is not supported (Austria/ORF)?

2) Channel configuration
I want to configure the same channel set für my 2 cards except that the
first card should also have the AUSTRIAN ORF channels which are encrypted.
The problem is (or the thing i don't understand right now) that a channel
can be assigned to just one input.
This means if i have an input with all the channels (encrpyted included)
and i assign this input to both capture cards, my backend may try to
switch to an encrypted channel on the card without the CI module which
results in a backend-crash.
Another possibility is to define a second input and also configure the
freeview channels a second time which will be even more confusing. Does
anybody know how to solve this issue?

Things to do:
1) Sound problem
Sometimes the audio on some channels is to fast but i haven't searched for
the problem right now.

2) XBOX frontend - black borders
Dennis mythxbox works great except the black borders. I have seen the post
for the overscan issue and have to play around a bit with it

Wish list:
1) Configuration
Although that channel configuration is normally done just one time there
should be an easier way to do it (automatic channel scanning would be
cool)

2) EPG
It seems that the VDR project had success in reading EPG data from dvb
cards. It would be great if mythfilldatabase could use this to get the
program list.

Since the version is now 0.14 i am sure that there is a great future for
mythtv. I will try to join the development team after the winter season
:-)

Martin
